It's important to note the scope of this release, and the impact that the interoperability between Moodle and Microsoft Live@edu Services has on the global education community. For more than a decade, Moodle's user base has experienced enormous worldwide growth (now over 55 million users strong). Within the same period of time, Microsoft Live@edu has grown its user-base to over 22 million people across the globe. The plug-in, which will be released to Moodle's open-source community on February 23rd, is also a huge win in bringing these communities together and creating a more seamless e-Learning experience.

- Log into courses using their Windows Live ID and display select Live Services on a Moodle site.
- View and compose emails and calendar events within a Moodle site using Outlook® Live
- Access Windows Live Messenger chat and Bing™ search engine within a course.
